The story of Pikmeerkruiser goes back a long way. Currently the third generation has taken over the leadership of the shipyard. Led by Hilde and Hendrik de Groot, a motivated team works on building unique and custom-built yachts. Craftsmanship, customer satisfaction and the continuos quest for more comfort and luxury is what drives this team.
Striving for perfection since 1963
Since 1963 we have built more than 550 boats. From the first sketches to a few cut-out plates of steel and the eventual construction of a luxury yacht – every step of the way is custom work. This fact also highlights our dedication to continuous development. Our approach is as follows: it can always be more beautiful, built better or be more practical. This credo was as true for the10th Pikmeerkruiser as it is for the 550st. In other words, with every Pikmeerkruiser we strive for more, adding that one little extra detail. Whether it is about using space more optimally, saving more space or creating an even higher level of comfort, with every step we strive for perfection - just as we have been doing since 1963. That is why we say: the Pikmeerkruiser comes close to perfection.
About the de Groot Family
Pikmeerkruiser was born out of the passion of Hendrik de Groot Senior (first generation). In 1963 he began building steel cruisers in Grou, which would carry the name of the adjacent lake: „Pikmeer“. In 1983 his son Bouwe de Groot (second generation) took over. In the meantime, the third generation is in charge of the shipyard, which boasts a well-curated range of boat models. These include „Open Cockpit“, „Aft Cabin“ and „Flybridge“. „Why offer hundreds of models if only a few can be the best?“ says Hendrik de Groot.
The determination to continuously come up with new ideas and additions, and to make all our customer's wishes come true is what characterises this family. „The customer's dream becomes our own and we will always go the extra mile to make this dream become a reality“, says Hendrik de Groot. It is also this mindset that has contributed highly to our good reputation. The yacht models from our early years are still very popular, something that fills us with pride.
The Pikmeerkruiser Team
What makes Pikmeerkruiser so special as a company is that everything is manufactured under one roof. This makes communication lines short and renders us extremely flexible. The team, which consists of +/- 14 people, specialising in carpentry, paintwork and technical installation, relies blindly on each other and works particularly well together. This makes it possible to realise all customer wishes: whether you prefer a modern or a classic interior, or anything in between.
No idea is too crazy, no question is too much. With 550 Pikmeerkruisers on the water, we still see every new Pikmeerkruiser as a challenge in its own. Come and visit our shipyard to see what the possibilities are, let yourself be inspired and challenge us. We cannot wait to hear about your ideas for your perfect dream yacht.
